About Project

Aykut Erol's Aphrodite Bust was first showcased at the Contemporary Istanbul Art Fair and explores the quest for ideal beauty. It questions whether infinite beauty can exist, or if beauty is merely a matter of ‘the right measure at the right time.’ Made from fine metal wire, the sculpture outlines a silhouette that reflects precise proportions. The limited edition series features the wire in striking neon colors. However, the bust itself is hollow, and the wire only frames an emptiness.
