About

Aykut Erol obtained his education in industrial product design from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts, and further honed his skills at Domus Academy and Naba in Italy, under the guidance of internationally acclaimed designers such as Andre Branzi, Alessandro Mendini, Stefano Giovannoni, Denis Santachiara, Jozeph Forakis, Konstantin Grcic, Michael Young, and Dante Donagani. For the past 27 years, Erol has been conducting his work at his own office bearing his name in the Teşvikiye district of Istanbul. Renowned for his sincere, minimalist, and eco-conscious designs, Erol has contributed to numerous exhibition design projects and has designed a multitude of products. Among his accolades are awards such as the Ministry of Culture Achievement Award, Best Design of the Year, American Good Design, Designpreis Deutschland, IF Design Award, International Design Excellence Awards, Interior Design Best of Year, ICONIC Awards, and Architizer A+ International Design Awards, both nationally and internationally. In 2007, Erol was recognized as one of the 23 designers worldwide followed by ElleDecor International and art and design critic Andre Putman, alongside prominent figures such as Marcell Wanders and Zaha Hadid. Aykut Erol has also served as a speaker and jury member at significant design events, promoting his product designs on the international stage. In 2011, select pieces of his work were acquired by the Frank Ghery-Marta Herford Museum for their permanent collections. As a globally recognized industrial product designer, Erol aims to continue crafting distinctive and impactful products for international companies, using his creative vision. His goal is to produce designs that are showcased in museums and sought after for collections.
