HIPERMETROP

About Project

In the ‘From Architect to Musician’ exhibition, Aykut Erol's installation Hyperopia features large single-lens glasses. The term ‘hyperopia’ refers to a common vision condition where distant objects are seen clearly, but nearby objects may appear blurry. Central to the work is the idea of framing; the glasses encapsulate a single eye that expresses Erol's sense of panic. The LCD screen embedded in the lens of the glasses is completely transparent, adding an intriguing dimension to the overall effect of the piece.
