About Project

Aykut Erol's open geometric structure, created with straight metal rods, is a contribution made in 2012 for the ‘Material States’ exhibition in collaboration with artist Yiğit Yazıcı. Erol divided Yazıcı's abstract painting into seven triangles and integrated them into a structure. Visitors could only see the original painting as a whole when standing at a specific point in front of this installation. Through this process, Erol aimed to engage the audience and transform their perspective on the artwork.
